Senior Environmental Health and Safety Officer
Our Client is looking for a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join their EH&S Department. Reporting to the EH&S Manager, the role holder will work within the team to develop, improve and continuously promote positive environmental, health and safety practices throughout the organisation. This position is ideal for someone with an Environmental background looking for superb experience in an organisation committed to continually improving its practices.
Responsibilities:
Strong focus on strengthening site environmental management program and implementing innovative environmental support systems
Manage Industrial Emissions License (IEL) and complete and/or co-ordinate monitoring and report programs as per IEL
Provide advice, support and assistance to the Production, Engineering and Manufacturing Departments in implementing current international best practices.
Assist in the implementation of company’s EH&S policies and procedures.
Complete audits to ensure compliance.
Assist in developing the safety management system in line with ISO14001.
Develop and complete risk assessments, identifying improvements necessary.
Ensure all H&S accidents, incidents and near misses are promptly reported and thoroughly investigated.
Identify appropriate corrective and preventative measures and closeout of accidents and incidents.
Coordinate Occupational Exposure Monitoring Programme.
Develop departmental EHS training programmes in line with overall plan.
Carry out H&S induction training on new and contract staff, as required.
Report KPIs on a weekly and monthly basis.
Competencies & Experience required:
A Higher Diploma/Degree in Environmental Science or Occupational, Health & Safety
Minimum 4 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a manufacturing environment
Environmental management experience is essential
Proven ability of successfully implementing a positive health and safety culture
Knowledge and experience in IPPC licence compliance
Proven project management experience
Strong teamwork and collaborative competencies
Process driven
IT Proficient – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and E-Mail.
Salary:
circa €75K per annum & benefits (DOE)
